Like all blogs, this one will be a place where I can share the things that concern me most and a place for you to respond, ask questions, make comments and, generally, to enter into a running discussion, mostly about pastoral and theological concerns. Unlike many blogs, I want this to be an open discussion–where you can feel free to challenge my thinking. Of course, this works both ways, and if you feel free to challenge me, then I shall feel free to do the same–to challenge you as well. At the same time, my goal is to stir up the evangelical theological pot a bit, to try to keep us thinking about what is really important, so far as the Lordship of Jesus is concerned. I want to try to keep us true to the Gospel, not to keep us true to somebody’s truncated understanding of the Gospel. So, buckle up, hang on and I hope the ride doesn’t get so bumpy that anyone who loves Jesus and wants to obey him gets thrown off. That would disturb me. But believe me when I say that, should that happen, I am more than willing to stop, back up and help them back on. Bless you for trying this out with me.
